A message for Veterans Day
Three months have passed since we posted our stories and folded up the tents. We've gotten a lot of great feedback and some good exposure, and we thank everyone who took the time to click on our work.
We've all moved on to other things now – internships, jobs, finishing up degrees and starting toward new ones. As our time in the woods of Washington fades into memory, though, it's hard to forget the personal stories we heard from the men and women who have served our country.
They told us about suffering and pride, confusion and dejection. They opened up their lives to us in the hope that others might recognize the sacrifice they made. We tried our best to get that message across effectively.
On Veterans Day, all of us at the Syracuse News21 team would like to take time to thank those Washington veterans once again for everything they did for us, not only this summer but in their service for our country and their protection of our rights. We tried our best to ensure that those contributions, those stories and those people are not forgotten.
